Cadence Weapon is a former Pitchfork writer turned indie rapper, who is now also Poet Laureate for Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As in- he is a government appointed rapper. That is probably the biggest oxymoron you’ve heard all day. However his dynamic style, which ranges from a laid back Wiz Khalifa to a passionate Killer Mike, but “He Remains The Same.” Cadence Weapon’s album Hope in Dirt City is out via Upper Class Recordings May 29th.
